Neel Sethi did a tremendous job, considering how young he was at this point, and inexperienced, he nailed it. There is a real lack of musical accompaniment, by the time we get to hear Baloo singing Bear Necessities, it almost feels shoehorned in, up until that point. The quality of CGI is incredible, some of the best I've ever seen, the animals are amazing, Baloo and Shere Khan in particular, you get the impression that this film was a labour of love for all concerned.

The meeting with Louie, also mesmerising. Lots of great scenes, some feel lesser than the animation, some seem greater and better developed, I loved that moment where Mowgli encountered Kaa, Scarlett Johansson did a phenomenal job, that voice of hers blew me away. It's moving, it's fun, it's quite an enchanting film, for a real life animation, this actually blew me away. What can I say, against all of my expectations, I utterly loved it, it feels so familiar, and yet it is so different.

I approached this film with a degree of caution, as the original was a firm favourite of mine, a real staple of my childhood. Man cub Mowgli is encouraged to turn away from the family of Wolves that raised him in the jungle, and to turn to the human settlers nearby. The Sherman Brothers did very well with lots of good songs, such as 'I Want to be Like You' and 'Bare Necessities' This is a great animated film for the whole family to enjoy.Reviewed by Sleepin_Dragon 9 / 10 A quite wonderful movie. A veteran of old time radio, such as 'The Jack Benny Show,' Harris brought his comic talents to the fore and provided a very lively portrayal of happy-go-lucky, free-spirited lovable oaf, which is a welcome contrast to the cute anthropomorphic animals Disney had a penchant for in 'Bambi,' 'Cinderlla,' and 'Dumbo.' The guy who does the voice of King Louie is also great, as is Sterling Holloway as the goofy villain Kaa you might remember Holloway better as the original Winnie the Pooh. The film's standout is obviously Phil Harris as Baloo the Bear.

The animation appears a bit dated, in large part because it appears to use the Xeroxing method, but that doesn't detract from the great story Disney had created, or the voice actors who add life to this movie. This was the last cartoon feature Disney was directly involved with before his death, and it is one of his better films.
